Squirrel Sitting Up Holding an Acorn

A squirrel sits upright on its haunches in side view, holding a small acorn up to its mouth with both front paws. Its big, fluffy tail curves up behind its back and ends in a loose spiral swirl near the middle. The face has pointed ears, one dark eye with a few lashes, a small nose and long whiskers that stretch out to the right. Short, sketchy fur lines on the chest, belly and tail add some texture, and the back feet are flat on the ground with visible toes. The large tail and rounded body are easy to fill in, while the acorn and paws take a bit more care. Try soft grays and browns for the fur, then pick a different color for the acorn cap so it stands out. This free printable also works well for an autumn lesson on how squirrels gather and store food.
