Left-Facing Horse With Layered Mane and Long Tail

Left-Facing Horse With Layered Mane and Long Tail coloring page

Coloring guide

A single horse stands in side view, facing left, with its head slightly lowered and one ear pointed forward. A long, layered mane falls down the neck in separate strands, and a full tail hangs nearly to the ground at the back. The body is drawn with light dotted shading along the shoulder, belly and hindquarters, which leaves plenty of open space to color. Small tufts of grass run along the bottom edge beneath the hooves, and the background is plain white. This free printable works well for kids who like realistic animals. Try coloring the coat in a natural shade like chestnut, bay or gray, then use a darker pencil for the mane, tail and lower legs. It is also a handy page for talking about horse parts such as the muzzle, withers, hooves and tail.
