Star Mandala With Large Stars and Border Ring

A round mandala built almost entirely from stars. Eight large five-pointed stars sit in wedge-shaped sections around the middle, each section divided by straight lines that run out from the center like spokes. In the center is a smaller circle packed with layered star and diamond shapes, and a tiny six-pointed star sits right in the middle. Around the outside is a ring of small stars, three or four in each segment, tucked between two circle outlines. The lines are bold and the spaces are mostly open, so it works well for kids who like larger areas to fill in. Try giving the eight big stars one color family and the small border stars another, then let the busy center take your brightest crayons. It is a nice printable for talking about symmetry and counting.
