In the middle of the page sits a cheerful starfish with big sparkly eyes and an open, happy smile, circled by three different shells. A round spiral shell with curved stripes is at the top left, a fan-shaped scallop with ridged lines is at the top right, and a pointed, twisty cone shell is at the bottom right. Small dots run along each arm of the starfish, giving little ones lots of spots to color. Scattered pebbles and wavy sand lines fill the ground. With big shapes and bold outlines, it works well for preschoolers and early elementary kids. An orange starfish with yellow dots and soft pink and purple shells would look sweet. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the starfish body orange, leaving the two eye whites and the small highlights in the eyes white.
- 2Fill the dots on the starfish arms and the spots on its face with golden yellow.
- 3Color the scallop shell with light pink on its ridges and rose pink at the base, and the spiral snail shell with cream and sky blue stripes.
- 4Fill the conch shell with peach on the outside and cream on the inner lip, then color its opening coral red.
- 5Add teal, sky blue, soft blue, and light gray to the pebbles and small stones on the sand, and color the smile light pink.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading along the edges of the starfish and shells with a slightly darker shade of the same color to make them look rounded.
