Sunflower Visited by Three Ladybugs

Coloring guide
Three ladybugs have gathered around one large sunflower on this printable page. Two sit on the petals at the upper left and upper right, both facing the seed-covered center, and the third climbs the thick stem below, holding on with tiny legs. Each has a friendly smile, round eyes, curly antennae and a spotted shell, and the spot sizes change from bug to bug. The flower has two rings of pointed petals around a center made of lots of small round seeds. Two big leaves with visible veins and a few grass tufts sit at the bottom. Younger kids will enjoy the large open shapes, while the seed pattern gives older kids a calm, detailed challenge. Red shells with black spots look nice against yellow petals and a deep brown center. - leaf green
- bright lime green
- tomato red
- warm brown

- charcoal black
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the stem and the large leaf at the bottom: color the tall stem in bright lime green and the big leaf plus the small leaf near the base in leaf green.
- 2Fill all the sunflower petals around the edge in sunshine yellow, working from the top petals down to the bottom ones.
- 3Color the round center of the sunflower: fill the ring of seeds with warm brown and leave the bulk of the middle face white, like the example.
- 4Add the three ladybugs: color their shells tomato red, their heads soft cream, and their outlines and spots charcoal black, leaving a little white shine on the eyes.
- 5Optional: add a few darker strokes of leaf green or sunshine yellow along the petal edges for a bit of depth.
