Floppy-Eared Bunny Sniffing a Tulip

Sitting in the grass with its eyes happily shut, this floppy-eared bunny leans in to smell a big tulip. It has a small smile, whiskers, a little pink nose and a round fluffy tail, and one long ear droops down its back. Two daisy-style flowers with round centers rise on tall stems nearby, and grass tufts sit at the bottom and sides. The tulip has long pointed leaves sweeping up beside its stem. Bold, clean outlines and generous open spaces are a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids with crayons or chunky markers. A red or purple tulip looks lovely against soft gray or tan fur, and the two daisies can each get a different bright petal color. Print the sheet at home for a classroom project or weekend craft. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the bunny's body, legs, and paws warm brown, then leave the fluffy tail and the cheek patch soft cream.
- 2Fill the insides of the long ears with baby pink, leaving the thin outline unpainted.
- 3Color the tulip petals coral pink, then fill the petals of the left and right flowers with lavender purple and sky blue.
- 4Paint the flower centers golden yellow, and color the tulip stem, both tulip leaves, the flower stems, and the grass leaf green.
- 5Keep the eye whites, the little nose highlight, and the background white so the drawing stays bright.
- 6Optional: Add a few light strokes of a darker shade of brown on the bunny's back and haunch to make the fur look soft.
