A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the tall top hat crown and the round hat brim with charcoal gray, plus the inside of the hat's top opening.
- 2Color the stool seat, its back edge, and both front and back legs with warm orange, leaving the thin rim under the seat in chestnut brown.
- 3Fill the stool's lower rim and the base edge with chestnut brown so the seat looks like it has depth.
- 4Color the two belt straps around the hat with bright red, then fill the square buckle with golden yellow.
- 5Add the book: royal blue for the top and front cover, warm orange for the right end, light tan for the middle spine, and golden yellow for the left spine end. Leave the page edges white.
- 6Optional: Add a few light diagonal strokes of darker gray on the hat and darker brown on the stool for a sketchy, textured look.
