Feet apart on a grassy hill, a curly-haired little Cupid with feathery wings pulls back a bow and aims at a big wooden heart-shaped target. One arrow has already landed near the center. The target is made of wood planks with concentric heart rings and rests on a sturdy wooden stand. Cupid is barefoot in a simple tunic tied with a belt, with a quiver of extra arrows on his back. Small tufts of grass and rounded bushes fill the background. Alternating pink and red on the heart rings, with golden curls and pale blue wings, gives nice contrast. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the curly hair, the top and bottom tips of the bow, and the gold belt with golden yellow.
- 2Color the face, shoulders, arms, hands, and legs with light peach.
- 3Paint the bushes and grass with leaf green, and color the wooden stand and quiver straps warm brown.
- 4Fill the outer edges of the heart target with bright red and the inner rings with rose pink and pale pink, then color the small heart in the center bright red.
- 5Color the middle and lower parts of the bow with amber orange.
- 6Leave the wings, toga, arrows, bowstring, and background white. Optional: add a little darker shading on the toga folds and the wooden stand for depth.
