Three Bunnies on an Easter Egg Hunt in the Meadow

One bunny is mid-hop, with a woven basket of decorated eggs balanced on its head. Two more bunnies poke around in the grass below. The one on the left leans toward a big spotted mushroom with a small basket in one paw, and a patterned Easter egg is tucked at the base of the mushroom. On the right, a bunny crouches to sniff a tall daisy-style flower, with an empty basket sitting behind it. Fluffy bushes stand in the back, and tufts of grass and little flowers dot the meadow. Large shapes and clear outlines make it easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Soft pink or lavender looks sweet inside the ears, yellow suits the flower centers, and you could do a red mushroom cap and leave the white spots blank. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big bush and grass areas: color the background bushes green and the grass patches light green, leaving the fluffy white bush on the left uncolored.
- 2Fill the top bunny, the middle bunny and the right bunny with their colors: tan brown for the top bunny, light gray for the middle bunny, and peach for the right bunny, leaving the eye shines and teeth white.
- 3Color the inner ears and cheeks pink, and the mushroom cap coral red, keeping its white spots pale.
- 4Paint the Easter eggs in the baskets and on the ground: sky blue, bright yellow, amber orange and purple, with the cream mushroom stem and the flower petals left light.
- 5Optional: Add a little shading to the bunnies and mushroom with a slightly darker shade of the same color for a rounded look.
- 6Finish with the cream tails and the cream mushroom stem and base, then fill the flower centers bright yellow.
