Hot Air Balloons Floating by a Rainbow
Coloring guide
Three hot air balloons float in front of a big striped rainbow, with a little bird flying across the top right. The middle balloon is the biggest, with a row of hearts across its center and scalloped bands and vertical panels above. The balloon on the left is covered in circles and dots, and the one on the right has zigzag chevron stripes. Each balloon hangs a woven basket with a grid pattern below it. Puffy clouds of different sizes sit around the rainbow and along the bottom of the page, and the bird has one open wing and a round eye. Pinks and reds would suit the heart balloon, and the rainbow bands can go classic red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Print the free PDF at home for an easy afternoon activity. This fits right in with our Rainbow coloring pages — see also Mountain and Star.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the rainbow: color the outer arc red, the next arc bright yellow, then green, and the innermost arc sky blue.
- 2Fill the top section of the big middle balloon with red, orange, bright yellow, grass green and royal blue panels, one panel at a time.
- 3Color the scalloped band across the middle of the big balloon pink, then add a red heart in each of the five scallops, leaving the white outlines around them.
- 4Color the left balloon in turquoise with bright yellow and grass green panels, and leave the white dots as they are.
- 5Fill the right balloon with purple, peach, butter yellow, olive green and light blue zigzag stripes, and add turquoise zigzag edges at the top and bottom.
- 6Finish the baskets and balloon bottoms in bright yellow and brown, then leave the clouds and sky white. Optional: add a few darker shades along one side of each balloon for depth.
