Three Little Birds Soaring Above a Rainbow

Coloring guide
Three round little birds flutter over a big, bold rainbow in this simple line drawing. Every bird has a tiny tuft on its head, a small open beak, a dot for an eye and wings stretched wide in flight. Two of them face right, while the one on the right side faces left with a wing lifted high. The rainbow has six wide arched bands, so kids have lots of room to color them in order. Each end rests on a pair of puffy, scalloped clouds. Thick outlines and large shapes work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids who are still building crayon control. Go with classic rainbow order for the bands, then try sunny yellow, soft blue and pink for the birds so they pop against the white sky. Print or download this free page for a calm, creative break. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the three little birds in sky blue, covering their bodies, wings and tails, and leave the small eye shines white.
- 2Fill the outermost rainbow arc with bright red, then color the band just inside it with tangerine orange.
- 3Color the next arc inward with sunny yellow, then the green arc with grass green, and finish the innermost arc with sky blue.
- 4Fill all four fluffy clouds at the base of the rainbow with pale blue, keeping the background sky white.
- 5Optional: add light diagonal strokes in each color to give the rainbow and clouds a soft, hand-colored look.
