Down a spooky old hallway float three cheerful, round-eared ghosts, the biggest in the middle and two smaller ones beside it, all smiling with arms raised. The hall is full of things to spot: a hanging lantern, corner cobwebs, framed pictures of a ghost and a castle, a three-candle candelabra on a side table and a stack of books. On the right are a staircase, a tall grandfather clock and a little cat sitting on a cabinet, while a patterned rug and wooden floorboards fill the bottom. These are friendly originals, not Gengar, and they're a nice pick for kids who like cute Halloween scenes. Soft lavender or sky blue fits the ghosts, with warm yellow for the lantern and candle flames. Print the free PDF, and maybe a few extra copies. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the three ghosts: fill the large ghost, the right ghost and the small left ghost with pale baby blue, leaving the eyes, eye shines and the white parts of the faces untouched.
- 2Color the walls and frames next: use sage green for the main walls and the plant, and add teal to the wall edges and the moulding near the lantern.
- 3Fill the ceiling with navy blue and the lantern glass with sky blue, then color the ceiling trim and clock face with cream beige.
- 4Color the floorboards with honey brown and the rug and red patches with brick red, then add chocolate brown to the cabinets, table, banister and clock.
- 5Use coral pink for the ghosts' open mouths and tongues, and add the cat's collar in cream beige.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the bottom of each ghost and the corners of the floor to make the drawing look more three-dimensional.
