Three Smiling Kokeshi Dolls With Bows and Kimonos

Three little kokeshi style dolls stand in a loose group, one large doll in the middle and a smaller one on each side. Each has a round bob haircut with straight bangs, a bow on top of the head, closed happy eyes, rosy cheek circles and a tiny smile. They wear kimonos with wide, angled sleeves decorated with small flower and circle patterns, and a sash at the waist. The rounded bottom of each doll is covered in bubble-like circles. Short horizontal lines under each doll suggest the ground. This page is free to print, and it works well for a pattern lesson. Try giving each doll its own color scheme, then fill the sleeve flowers and bottom circles with a few repeating colors so kids can practice making patterns. The big open hair and kimono areas are easy for small hands, while the little circles give older kids a detailed challenge.
