Treasure Chest Surprise With a Happy Crab
Coloring guide
A smiling crab with big round eyes peers over an open treasure chest, one claw on the front and the other raised beside the lid. Inside you can see a jeweled crown, stacked coins and strings of round beads draping down near the keyhole lock. The beach around it has a leaning palm tree with coconuts, a small bush, gentle background waves and a starfish. In front lies a folded treasure map with an X, a compass rose and a dotted trail, and pebbles are scattered over the sand. Large shapes are easy for little hands, and the coins and beads keep older kids busy. Golden yellow on the coins and crown next to a bright red or orange crab makes a strong contrast. - 1Start with the big background areas: fill the sand with light sand, the sea with sky blue, and the map island with pale green, leaving the sky white.
- 2Color the crab's body, both claws, and legs in crab red, leaving the two eye whites and the sky white.
- 3Fill the palm tree: trunk in light brown, fronds and bushes in leaf green, and coconuts in wood brown.
- 4Paint the treasure chest with wood brown on the front, sides, and lid, then add golden yellow to the straps, lock, and crown.
- 5Finish with the details: cream on the pearls and parchment, soft pink on the tongue, orange on the starfish, and light gray on the pebbles. Optional: add a little darker shading under the crab and chest to make them pop.
