Trotting Horse With Flowing Mane and Tail

Coloring guide
A single horse is drawn in side view, facing right as it trots across the page. Its head is lifted with the ears pointed up and the mouth slightly open. The mane is jagged and wispy along the neck, and a full tail sweeps up and back with pointed, feathery ends. The legs are bent in mid stride, with the hooves clearly outlined. Bold black shading marks the muscles on the shoulder, belly, and hindquarters, which gives the body some shape. The background is plain white, so there is lots of room to work. This free printable is a good chance to practice shading. Try a light brown across the body, then press harder with a darker brown in the thick black areas to show muscle. Kids can also use it to talk about how a horse moves when it trots.
