Easel Painting with Squirtle on a Sunny Hill
Coloring guide
Standing upright on two feet, a smiling little turtle-like creature holds a paintbrush in one hand and a round paint palette in the other. It has big sparkly eyes, a tall fin-shaped crest on its head, a small fin on each side of its face, and a swirly spiral on its shell. A canvas on a wooden easel stands in front of it, showing a bright sun with rays over rolling hills. Three paint jars sit on the ground by the easel, with little grass tufts and pebbles around them. Bold, clear outlines make this a good pick for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Sunny yellow works for the sun in the painting, and two or three shades could go on the shell spiral. It's a free page to print for screen-free time at home. Looking for more? Our Eevee (Pokémon) and Legendary Pokémon coloring pages pair nicely with this Squirtle page.

- forest green
- lilac
- pale yellow

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big turtle body and head in lime green, plus the grassy hills and ground in the same shade, leaving the eye shines and the white background untouched.
- 2Color the canvas sky in sky blue and the hills in forest green and lime green, then fill the sun in golden yellow.
- 3Fill the turtle's shell with violet purple and lilac, and paint the lower belly in pale yellow.
- 4Add the fins in apricot orange and tangerine orange, and the easel and palette in caramel brown.
- 5Paint the paint jars and blobs: brick red, cherry red, ocean blue, sky blue, golden yellow and chartreuse yellow, then the open mouth in coral pink.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes along the shell edges and under the feet to give the turtle a little depth.
