Twin Baby Elephants Linking Trunks Beneath a Tree

Coloring guide
Two young elephants stand side by side, smiling at each other with their trunks curled together in the middle of the page. Both have big floppy ears, round eyes with sparkly highlights and little tufts of hair on their heads. A leafy tree branch stretches across the top on the right, with a few leaves drifting down. Below, the grassy ground has daisy-like flowers in several sizes and small grass tufts. Wide outlines and open spaces suit preschoolers and early elementary kids, and older children can take on the flowers and leaves. Blue-gray elephants, pink and yellow blooms and a mix of greens for the leaves is one way to go. Print or download it free for a classroom project or weekend craft. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill both elephants' heads, bodies, ears, legs and trunks with light gray, leaving the eyes and their white shines uncolored.
- 2Color the tree foliage and scattered leaves with leaf green, and the small knot on the trunk with olive brown. Leave the tree trunk white.
- 3Use dark gray for both elephant tails, then add cream to the feet and toenail areas.
- 4Color the grass tufts and flower leaves with light green and dark green, keeping all flower petals and centers white.
- 5Optional: add a few light gray hatch lines on the elephants' legs and under the ears for a soft sense of depth.
