Two smiling dolphins leap out of the water side by side. One is larger and higher, and the other is a bit smaller and just in front of it. Both have big round eyes, open happy mouths and curved flippers, and their tails dip toward the sea where drops and splashes fly up. To the right, a small sailboat with a striped hull and a triangular sail rides on rolling, swirly waves, and three puffy clouds drift above. With large shapes and bold outlines, it works well for preschoolers and early elementary kids still getting the hang of pencil and crayon control. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color both dolphins' bodies, tails and fins royal blue, leaving the eyes and teeth white.
- 2Fill both sails and the lower part of the boat hull with bright red, then add orange and golden yellow stripes across the middle of the hull.
- 3Color the clouds, water splashes and the small droplets in light sky blue, and fill the big waves at the bottom left and right with ocean blue.
- 4Add pale ice blue to the light bellies and the lower jaws of the dolphins, and leave the background white.
- 5Color the open dolphin mouths soft pink and keep the teeth white.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker strokes of royal blue on the dolphins and light sky blue on the clouds to give them a bit of depth.
