Two Steam Locomotives Facing Opposite Directions

Coloring guide
Two simple steam locomotives fill the page, one stacked above the other and pointing in opposite directions. The top engine faces right and the bottom one faces left. Each has a tall funnel-shaped smokestack, a round barrel-shaped boiler with an oval on the front, and a boxy cab with a long rectangular window and a smaller side window. Big wheels with small center dots sit under the cab, and one large drive wheel on each engine is linked by rods to a smaller wheel. A slanted cowcatcher with cut-out panels sits at the front. The outlines are thick and the spaces are large, so younger kids can stay inside the lines easily. Try coloring the two engines in different color schemes, then ask your child to point out which details match and which ones they changed. It also works well for practicing left and right. This page is free to print.
