Two Wolf Pups Exploring Rocks in Pine Forest

Two young wolves stand on a rocky patch of ground with a forest of tall pine trees sketched behind them. The wolf on the left leans far forward with its nose close to the dirt, as if sniffing something, and its bushy tail hangs down behind it. The second wolf stands on the right with its head lowered and its eyes looking off to the side. Big boulders fill the lower left corner, and small stones, tiny paw-like marks, and a few scraggly plants are scattered across the ground. The fur is drawn with short, scratchy lines, which gives you plenty of texture to work with. Try gray, tan, and brown crayons for the pups, then use several greens and blue-grays to make the faraway trees look softer than the ones up close. This free printable also works well for a quick lesson on how wolves use their sense of smell.
