Old-Fashioned Flatbed With Wooden Side Rails

The cab has a large side window and a door outlined with little notched corners. Behind it sits a flatbed with wooden plank sides held together by upright metal straps dotted with rivets. The back wheel has its own curved fender, and you can see a few chassis parts under the bed, plus a bumper bar sticking out at the front. Both wheels have thick tire rings and solid black centers. Kids could color the planks in different wood browns and pick a bright, faded paint color for the cab and fenders. It also works well for talking about how work trucks carry loads, and what a farmer or builder might put on the back.
