Waterfall Pool Fun for a Happy Bear Cub

Coloring guide
In a shallow pool, a smiling cub splashes water with both front paws and grins with its mouth wide open. A waterfall spills over a rocky ledge behind it, with drops running down the cascade and ripples spreading across the water. The jungle-like frame is packed with detail: large ferns, leafy plants, clusters of small flowers and boulders along the edges, plus two dragonflies hovering at the upper left and right. All those short fur strokes give kids a good chance to practice small, careful coloring. Warm browns and tans look good on the cub, light blues and teals on the water and waterfall, and bright pinks or yellows on the flowers. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the bear's fur: fill the big brown body, both arms, legs, and ears with warm brown, leaving the peach muzzle for later.
- 2Fill the waterfall and pool with light blue, then add bright blue along the deeper ripples and under the bear to add depth.
- 3Color the rocks in medium gray and the bushes and ferns in leaf green, grass green, and forest green, mixing in olive green for the plants near the bottom.
- 4Fill the muzzle and inner ears with peach, then leave the white foam, the sky, and the highlights in the water untouched.
- 5Optional: Add pale sky blue to the splashes and a little khaki on the small bank rock for extra sparkle.
