Waving Mermaid Barbie Riding a Friendly Unicorn
Coloring guide
A smiling mermaid is perched sideways on a gentle unicorn, waving hello with one hand. She wears a bodice decorated with shells and has a small shell in her hair, and her scalloped tail with ruffled fins hangs over the unicorn's side. The unicorn has a spiral horn, big friendly eyes, a long wavy mane curling down its neck, and a full swirling tail that sweeps out behind. No background means younger kids get lots of open room and won't feel crowded, while the wavy hair and shell details give older kids some finer work. Soft pinks and purples suit the mane and tail, and turquoise and green on the mermaid's tail will help her stand out from the unicorn. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the mermaid's skin, the raised arm, and the leg hanging over the unicorn, using light peach.
- 2Fill the mane and the tail with sky blue, periwinkle, lilac purple, and pale lavender, switching colors strand by strand to create a soft gradient.
- 3Color the mermaid's fishtail fins with hot pink, baby pink, and golden yellow, alternating colors across each fan shape.
- 4Add baby pink to the unicorn's forelock, the curls at the tail tip, and the mane curls, and use sunny yellow for the horn and hooves.
- 5Leave the unicorn's body, face, belly, and the mermaid's bubbles and shell highlights white for a clean, bright look.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade of each color along one side of the mane and fins to make them look fuller.
