Wolf Standing in Side View With Fluffy Tail

A single wolf stands in profile, facing right, with its head held level and its eyes closed or narrowed. The pointed ears are upright, and the snout ends in a small black nose, the only solid filled spot on the page. Short pen strokes show fur tufts across the neck, shoulders, back and legs, and the thick tail hangs low with a ragged, feathery tip. The two legs on the far side are shaded with fine diagonal hatching, so they look darker than the near legs. There is no background, which leaves plenty of white space. Try coloring the body in layered grays, browns and creams, going over the fur strokes with a darker pencil. The hatched legs also make a nice chance to talk about shadow and depth. This free printable suits kids learning about wild animals.
