A young giraffe with a friendly smile, big round eyes and two knobby horns stands tall on a grassy savanna. Its long neck is covered in rounded, uneven patches, and a tufted tail swishes behind it. One flat-topped acacia tree sits on the left and a smaller one on the right, and in the background a half-circle sun with long rays peeks over the horizon. Small clumps of grass are scattered on the ground. The large spots are easy for little hands to fill, and the open sky leaves lots of room to get creative. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the giraffe's body, neck, and legs in golden yellow, leaving the small white highlight on the neck and the white patches on the legs untouched.
- 2Color the ears and the inside of the left ear in soft pink, and fill the horn tips and the hair tuft on top of the head in dark brown.
- 3Fill the sun in sunny yellow, then color the grass strips and the patch behind the legs in lime green and grass green.
- 4Color the tree canopies in forest green and grass green, and the trunks in tan brown, keeping the branches and sun rays white.
- 5Add the caramel brown and amber orange spots across the body, neck, and legs, along with the dark brown hooves, tail tuft, and mane.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the lower legs and under the belly to make the giraffe pop.
