- 1Start with the big background: color the sky and clouds in pale sky blue, then fill the grass and bushes with grass green, leaving the little stones white.
- 2Color the castle walls and gateway in pale beige, and the three tower roofs in royal blue and sky blue.
- 3Fill the horse's body, neck and legs with amber orange, then add dark brown to the mane, forelock, saddle and reins, keeping the muzzle white.
- 4Paint the knight's tunic and skirt in royal blue, his armor and helmet in silver gray, and the helmet plume and tail in cherry red.
- 5Color the shield field in royal blue and the star and its border in golden yellow. Optional: add a little charcoal gray shading under the armor and the horse's hooves for depth.
