Bamboo Forest Path With a Young Tiger
Coloring guide
On a dirt path, a young tiger stands facing us with big round eyes and small rounded ears that give it a sweet, curious look. Bold curved stripes run across the face, body, legs and ringed tail, so there is plenty to color without the shapes getting too tiny. Tall bamboo stalks with long pointed leaves frame both sides of the page. Behind the tiger are bushy shrubs and a faraway mountain, and leafy plants, a few rocks and fallen leaves cover the ground near its paws. This free printable suits kids who like animal scenes with both large and detailed areas. Warm orange fur with a lighter chest and muzzle works nicely, and layering several greens and yellow-greens on the bamboo will make the forest feel deep and full. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Leave the sky and the bright background areas white, including the bamboo leaves at the top and left edges.
- 2Color the distant mountain and the hills with teal green, then fill the bushes and small plants with lime green and spring green.
- 3Fill the bamboo stalks with olive green and lime green, and color the bamboo leaves with grass green and forest green, leaving a few leaves white for highlights.
- 4Color the dirt path and the ground with tan, and the gray rocks with stone gray.
- 5Color the tiger's body, legs, and head with orange, leaving the white stripes uncolored, then fill the chest, muzzle, cheeks, and paws with cream and the inner ears with pink.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker green strokes under the bamboo leaves and a little golden yellow on the cheeks for extra depth.
