Standing on a rocky, grassy rise, this young zebra turns its head to gaze at a big rising sun with long rays spreading across the sky. It has a fuzzy upright mane, a tufted tail and a friendly smile, and curved stripes cover its body, which are fun to color. On both sides stand flat-topped acacia trees, with small bushes and tufts of grass nearby and a winding stream crossing the plain far off. Puffy clouds fill the sky, and three birds glide overhead. - 1Start with the sky around the zebra and the trees in sky blue, leaving the clouds white.
- 2Fill the savanna plain and distant hills with sunny yellow and periwinkle blue, then color the tree canopies in leaf green.
- 3Color the sun and its rays in golden yellow and sunny yellow, and add the grass and bushes in bright lime green, yellow green and leaf green.
- 4Fill the ground and rocks in ochre and tan brown, and the low pale cloud near the horizon in pale cream.
- 5Color the zebra's muzzle and hooves in dark gray and the dark hip stripe in charcoal black, keeping the zebra's body, mane and eye whites white.
- 6Optional: add a little light gray shading on the zebra's belly for depth.
