A Mama Bear's Love in a Big Hug

Coloring guide
A big mama bear sits in the grass with her arms wrapped around a small cub snuggled against her chest. The cub squeezes its eyes shut in a happy smile, while mama looks down with a gentle grin and long lashes. Both bears have round ears, and the soles of their feet show paw pads, so there are plenty of little shapes to color. Three hearts float in the air around them. A flower with leaves stands in each bottom corner, with a few tufts of grass in between. Clear, bold outlines work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and it's a sweet pick for Mother's Day or a quiet afternoon craft. Honey brown for the mama and lighter caramel for the cub look nice, with pink and red hearts and bright flower petals. Print the free PDF for classroom time or a rainy day. This fits right in with our Love coloring pages — see also Christmas (Adult) and Friendship.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big mama bear body and the baby bear body with warm brown and golden yellow, leaving the small highlight near her leg white.
- 2Fill the mama bear's muzzle and chin with pale peach, and color the ears and the inner ear shapes with soft pink.
- 3Color the three hearts with cherry red and the grass leaves and flower leaves with leaf green.
- 4Fill the flower petals with sky blue and keep the flower centers as they are, adding the tiny eye shines white.
- 5Color the paw pads with chocolate brown on the big feet and golden yellow on the baby bear's toes, then finish the feet soles in chocolate brown.
- 6Optional: add a few darker brown strokes on the mama bear's body to give the fur a little texture.
