Love Letters from a Smiling Mailbox

Coloring guide
A cheerful mailbox with wide eyes, an open mouth and a big happy face sits on its post with the door flipped open. Two heart-sealed envelopes are tucked inside, the flag is up on the side, and a large heart decorates the side panel. Another envelope drifts down in front, and one more has landed on the grass. Two smiling butterflies with heart-shaped wings flutter nearby, each trailing a dashed line. Daisy-style flowers, leafy bushes and tufts of grass surround the post. Big shapes and clean lines make this free printable a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A sky blue mailbox makes red or pink hearts stand out, and purple and yellow work well on the butterflies and flowers. - 1Color the mailbox body and its door flap cherry red, leaving the heart on the front and the white stripe along the bottom of the flap uncolored.
- 2Fill the heart on the mailbox front with baby pink, and color the trim around the top and sides of the mailbox golden yellow.
- 3Color the envelopes: the front envelope inside the mailbox and the floating envelope in the middle in baby pink and lemon yellow, the back envelope in pale blue, and the bottom envelope in lavender.
- 4Add coral red hearts on each envelope, and color the inside of the mailbox opening dark brown with the tiny bits of sky blue and lavender visible.
- 5Color the flowers and butterflies: lilac purple on the top left butterfly and left flower, sky blue on the right butterfly and blue flowers, tangerine orange on the middle flower, and rose pink on the lower left flowers.
- 6Finish the grass and leaves in leaf green and lime green, color the bush in leaf green, and leave the background and the mailbox post as shown. Optional: add a little darker shading under the mailbox for depth.
