Circus Elephant Sitting on a Podium
Coloring guide
Perched on a round circus podium, this baby elephant has its trunk curled in the air and a big happy grin. It wears a small striped hat with a pom-pom and a decorated saddle cloth with a large star, edged with dangling round tassels. Triangles and circles run around the podium, so there are lots of little shapes to fill in. Behind the elephant is a striped circus tent with a tiny flag on top, tied-back curtains and bunting across the corners, with soft bushes and a gentle hill in the background. Large areas mix with small details here, so it works for preschoolers and early elementary kids alike. Red and yellow would suit the tent and podium triangles, and purple makes the star pop against a soft gray elephant. It's a free printable too. This fits right in with our Elephant coloring pages — see also Wolves and Lion.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big elephant body, ears, and trunk in light gray, leaving the eye whites, teeth, and toes white.
- 2Color the inside of the big ear and the mouth area in rose pink and salmon pink.
- 3Fill the tent stripes, bunting flags, and podium panels with bright red and bright yellow, alternating them like a circus tent.
- 4Color the podium triangles with sky blue and bright yellow, and add the grass bushes in grass green.
- 5Add the bib in bright red with a bright yellow star and fringe, then color the hat with golden yellow and sky blue stripes.
- 6Optional: Add a little charcoal gray to the tail tip and light shading under the elephant to give it depth.
