Bashful Elf Perched on the Edge of a Plank

A little elf sits on the edge of a thick wooden plank with his hands resting by his sides, glancing off to one side with a curious, slightly bashful look. He wears a tall pointed hat with a curled tip, a short-sleeved collared shirt with three small buttons down the front, and a wide belt with a big buckle around his round belly. His arms and legs are long and thin, and he has large pointed ears and a curl of hair at the cheek. His feet end in roomy, soft shoes with turned-up edges. The plank has a few small knots and grain lines along its side, which gives you something fun to shade. Try coloring the hat and shirt in two bold, contrasting colors, then use browns and tans with light pencil lines to bring out the wood grain. This free printable works well for younger kids who like big open areas to fill.
