Beach Cleanup Kids Earth Day Coloring Page
Coloring guide
Two kids tidy up a sandy beach in this free printable Earth Day page. The boy kneels in the sand reaching for a tin can, while the girl, who has a long ponytail, stands next to him and drops a plastic bottle into a big open sack already holding cans and bottles. More litter lies around them: a bottle, a can and a piece of driftwood. The sand also has a starfish, shells and bits of seaweed. Farther back you'll see a sandcastle with towers and a flag, a small bucket and shovel, rolling ocean waves and a lighthouse on a faraway hill, plus a seagull flying under puffy clouds. Bright blue and teal waves, a sandy yellow castle and a soft green sack would tie in the recycling idea. It works well for a classroom or family activity. - 1Color the sand and the sandcastle first: use pale yellow for the beach and golden yellow for the castle and its towers.
- 2Paint the sea and waves with light aqua, adding sky blue for the darker water, and leave the white foam on the waves white.
- 3Color the boy's shirt sky blue and his shorts navy blue, then give the girl a soft pink top and purple shorts.
- 4Fill the trash bag with grass green, the inside of the bag with dark green, and the bottles with pale blue; color the cans red.
- 5Color the skin peach, the hair brown, the shoes light pink and soft pink, the bucket turquoise, the driftwood tan brown, and the clouds pale blue.
- 6Optional: add a little darker brown in the shadows of the hair and a touch of navy blue along the bottom of the bag for depth.
