Across the night sky walks a friendly bear, with star points marking its shoulders, back and legs, all joined by thin lines. Below it a fish swims with its own constellation stars along the body and tail, and a bird with wide-spread wings glides off to the right. A cratered full moon sits in the top corner, and small clouds plus lots of sparkly four-point and five-point stars fill the gaps between the animals. At the bottom, a calm lake lies in front of snowy mountains and rows of pine trees, with rocks, grass and a few flowers up front. It's a good choice for kids who love stargazing or animals. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sky areas: color the clouds pale blue, leaving the moon and stars white.
- 2Fill the bear with chestnut brown, then color its constellation star golden yellow and keep the star outlines white.
- 3Color the fish light gray with slate blue on its top fin and dusty teal on its tail, leaving the eye white.
- 4Fill the bird's wings and head with cream and the body and tail with chestnut brown, adding pale aqua to the wing tips.
- 5Color the lake sky blue, mountains soft blue and light blue, and the tall pines forest green, leaving small white gaps for the reflections.
- 6Finish the shore with grass green, warm gray rocks and dark green flower leaves. Optional: add a slightly darker edge of each color for depth.
