Boy and Puppy Racing Downhill With a Big Kite

A smiling boy runs across a grassy hill holding the string of a big diamond-shaped kite, with two ribbon tails fluttering behind it. A playful puppy with its tongue out bounds along beside him. Behind them you can see rounded trees, bushes, a small house with a chimney and a winding path, plus a sun peeking out from behind a puffy cloud. A butterfly floats in the sky, and a flower, a grass tuft and a spotted flower head fill the corner of the foreground. This printable page gives kids plenty of different shapes to work with. Try coloring the kite in bright patterns, such as stripes on each of its four sections, then ask children to pick colors for the sun, butterfly and flowers that feel like a spring afternoon. It also works well for talking about wind and outdoor play.
