Butterfly on a Daisy: Advanced Designs Coloring Page
Coloring guide
A butterfly with a round smiling face and two curled antennae is perched right in the middle of a big daisy. You can't miss its striped body, and the large wings are packed with ovals and circles of different sizes, so there are plenty of little spaces to fill. Under the butterfly, the daisy has a dotted center and rounded petals fanning all the way around, with a long stem and two leaves to finish it off. The lines are clean and the shapes medium in size, so it has detail without being overwhelming. Purple and pink on the wing circles and yellow for the flower center will help the butterfly pop. This free printable fits a quiet afternoon or a spring classroom activity. Kids who like Advanced Designs coloring pages usually enjoy Hard / Detailed and Mandala too.

- leaf green
- orange

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the flower petals and the flower center in golden yellow, keeping the dotted center area as a bright yellow base.
- 2Color the two leaves and the long stem in leaf green, leaving the thin lighter lines on the leaves uncolored.
- 3Fill the large upper and lower wing sections with orange, then color the big round wing shapes in orange as well.
- 4Color the inner wing petals in rose pink, and the top and bottom wing circles in rose pink too.
- 5Add the butterfly body stripes in orange and yellow, color the head and antenna tips in golden yellow, and fill the small wing dots in lavender purple and sky blue.
- 6Optional: Leave the eyes, the smile, and the background white, or add a little pale yellow shading where the body meets the flower for extra depth.
