A sweet tiger cub sits up in the grass with its head tilted, eyes looking sideways at a butterfly that has landed right on its nose. It has a gentle smile, rounded ears, whiskers, and curved stripes on the face, chest, legs and curled tail. Daisy-style flowers with round centers poke up through tall grass, and soft bushes and hills roll across the background. The big clear outlines are comfortable for preschoolers and early elementary kids, while the daisies and butterfly wings give more confident colorers smaller areas to work on. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big tiger cub body, head, and tail in warm orange, leaving the white stripes and the eye shines untouched.
- 2Color the inside of both ears and the nose in blush pink, then fill the muzzle, cheeks, and paws in cream.
- 3Use burnt orange on the darker shaded parts of the tail and back legs, and light tan on the tail tip for a soft contrast.
- 4Fill the meadow with leafy green on the bushes, grass blades, and grass tufts, and paint the flower centers in golden yellow.
- 5Color the butterfly with sky blue on the lower wings, lemon yellow on the bright upper wing patches, and golden yellow on the wing edges, keeping the antennae white.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading with a slightly darker orange along the belly and under the head to make the cub look more rounded.
