Cat on the Window Sill Looking Out at a House

Coloring guide
A striped kitten sits on a windowsill with its back to us, head turned in profile as it gazes out. Long curtains with tie-backs frame both sides of the window. Outside you'll spot a small house with a chimney and a square window, rounded bushes, a leafy tree and puffy clouds in the sky. The cat's tail curls down over the edge of the sill, and stripes run along its back, tail and face, with whiskers and one big round eye. Wide shapes and clear outlines keep this free printable easy for younger kids, while the stripes and bushes give older ones more to do. Warm orange and brown stripes on the kitten, soft blue for the sky and a few greens for the bushes and tree would all look good. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky in sky blue, coloring the background behind the cat and window, leaving the two clouds white.
- 2Color the curtains and their tiebacks in cornflower blue, then fill the window frame and sill in warm tan.
- 3Fill the cat's body and ears in bright orange, leaving the front paw white and adding the cream on the tail tip and cheek.
- 4Add burnt orange stripes across the back, tail, and ear areas, following the shapes of the cat.
- 5Color the bushes and trees in grass green and forest green, add the brown tree trunk, and fill the house roof in tomato red.
- 6Finish the house wall in pale yellow, the chimney in light gray, and the window panes in cornflower blue. Optional: add a little darker shade under the cat for depth.
