Stretching Tabby Cat With a Hooked Tail

Coloring guide
This happy tabby kitten is in the classic play-bow, front paws stretched out ahead and its bottom up in the air. The tail curls over its back in a big hook. The face is cheerful, with round sparkly eyes, a tiny nose, long whiskers and an open smiling mouth, plus two pointed ears on top. Bold stripes run across the forehead, back, tail and back leg, so there are lots of sections to fill in. There's no background at all, just the cat, and the thick clean lines are easy for little hands to follow. Orange and cream work nicely for the fur and stripes, with a pink nose and bright green or blue eyes. It's a free printable, so grab it for your collection. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- golden orange
- burnt orange
- light apricot
- soft pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big body, legs and head using golden orange, leaving the eye whites and the tail tip's outline clear.
- 2Fill the front leg, the left front leg and the face center with light apricot for a softer glow on the paws and muzzle.
- 3Color the stripes on the back, the tail, the side and the head with burnt orange, following the curved shapes.
- 4Add soft pink to the inside of both ears, the nose and the tongue.
- 5Leave the big round eyes white, then fill the pupils with a dark color if you like, and keep the cheek areas golden orange.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra burnt orange along the shadowed side of the body to make the cat look rounder.
