Jumping Cat Reaching for a Butterfly

Coloring guide
A fluffy kitten springs through the air, sparkly eyes wide and mouth open in a smile, both front paws stretched up toward a smiling butterfly fluttering overhead. The bushy tail curls out behind, and little tufts of fur show on the cheeks, chest and tail tip. Below, a simple garden has three daisy-style flowers on leafy stems and a few small tufts of grass. The butterfly's wings have heart-shaped patterns, which are fun to color in. Bold, clear outlines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the free printable works well on a rainy afternoon or in the classroom. Soft orange stripes for the kitten and purple and pink wings for the butterfly will stand out against the sky. Browse more Cats coloring pages, or explore Farm Animals and Tiger for even more fun.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the cat's fur, tail and legs with apricot orange, leaving the white tail tip, cheeks, lower body and paw white.
- 2Fill the flowers' petals with sky blue on the big flower and lavender purple on the left flowers, then add coral pink to the small flower in the middle.
- 3Paint the centers of the flowers with lemon yellow and color the leaves and grass with leaf green and lime green.
- 4Color the butterfly's wings in lavender purple and coral pink, and its head and body with lemon yellow and apricot orange.
- 5Add coral pink to the inner ears and tongue, and leave the eye whites and shine spots white. Optional: add a slightly darker shade of orange along the cat's belly for depth.
