A fluffy chick with big sparkly eyes and a tiny open beak peeks out of a woven Easter basket. Three decorated eggs rest in front of it: one with polka dots, one with horizontal stripes and one with zigzag lines. That's a nice range of patterns to fill in. Daisy-style flowers and leafy sprigs stick up on both sides, and a large ribbon bow sits on top of the curved handle, which has a twisted rope look. The brick-style weave on the basket leaves lots of small sections for little hands to color. Soft yellow works well for the chick, and bright pinks, purples and blues will make the egg patterns stand out. You can download it as a free PDF, no sign-up needed. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the chick: fill its head and body with bright yellow, leaving the eye whites, the bright shine dots in the eyes, and the background white.
- 2Color the bow at the top with bubblegum pink, including both loops, the tails, and the small knot in the center.
- 3Fill the woven basket with warm brown, then add light tan to the lighter rows of weave to give it a basket texture.
- 4Color the eggs next: the left egg with lavender purple and white dots, the striped egg in sky blue and bubblegum pink, and the zigzag egg in lime green with bright yellow zigzags.
- 5Add the flowers and leaves: make the daisies white, the right flower lavender purple with a golden center, and the leaves fresh green.
- 6Optional: Add a little orange to the chick's beak and the flower center for a warm pop of color, and use a slightly darker shade on the basket edges for depth.
