Skating Friends on a Frozen Winter Pond
Coloring guide
In front, a smiling girl in a pom-pom beanie, scarf and flared skirt glides over the ice with her arms stretched wide and one leg lifted behind her on figure skates. Swirling ripple lines around her blades show she's moving. Behind her, two kids in knit hats and scarves skate hand in hand, and a boy on the right waves his arms to stay balanced. A wooden park bench, snowy bushes with berry branches, bare trees and tall evergreens fill the background. Knitted textures and scarf fringe make this free printable good practice for small details. Raspberry pink on the main skater's hat and scarf makes her pop against icy blue on the pond and soft gray in the trees. Love this Winter coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the pond and sky: fill the open ice and sky areas with pale ice blue, leaving the snowy banks and tree areas white.
- 2Color the girl in the center: use light pink for her jacket sleeves and skirt, rose pink for her hat and hat stripes, and peach skin for her face and hands.
- 3Add hot pink to her scarf and the scarf tails, then warm brown to her hair.
- 4Fill the friends on the ice: use royal blue for the boy's jacket and hat, navy blue for his pants, lavender for the left girl's coat and hat, and leaf green for the boy on the right.
- 5Color the bench seat and backrest warm brown, and add pale aqua to the small bushes on the right.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading in darker shades on the pond edges and jacket folds, and leave the highlights and snow white.
