Compound Leaf Branch With Oval Leaflets

A single long stem runs diagonally from the top left down to the bottom right, with oval leaflets attached along both sides. Each leaflet has a thin center vein and a smooth, rounded outline. The leaflets are different sizes. The larger ones sit in the middle of the stem and the smaller ones are near the tip and the base. Some lean upward and others point out to the side, so the branch looks natural and not too neat. The wide, open shapes are easy for small hands to fill in, and the thin veins give older kids something to trace. This free printable works well for a nature unit. Try coloring each leaflet in a slightly different shade of green, then count the leaflets on each side of the stem and compare the two sides.
