Compound Leaf with Five Serrated Leaflets

Compound Leaf with Five Serrated Leaflets coloring sheet

Coloring guide

A single compound leaf fills the page, with five pointed leaflets branching off a long central stem that runs diagonally to the lower right. Three large leaflets sit at the top and left, and two smaller ones are attached lower down along the stem. Each leaflet has a bumpy, toothed edge, a thick center vein, and many curved side veins that reach toward the outline. The shapes are big and open, so they are easy for small hands to color. Try shading each leaflet in a few greens and leaving the veins lighter, or use autumn yellows and browns for a fall look. It also works well for a quick science lesson, since kids can count the five leaflets and see how they join the stem. Print as many copies as you need for a nature walk comparison.
