Cook at Work in a Medieval Castle Kitchen

The star of this cozy medieval kitchen is a cheerful cook in a puffy hat and apron, stirring a big steaming pot with a long wooden spoon. A small cat in a collar sits nearby next to a barrel and a basket of apples. Up front on the table you'll find a lattice-topped pie, a roast chicken on a platter with little tomatoes and leaves, and a patterned pitcher. Shelves hold crusty bread, fruit and jars, while pots and ladles hang by a crackling fireplace with stacked logs. A castle with towers is visible through the arched window. Warm orange and red flames look great against cool gray stone walls, and golden brown suits the pie and chicken. Print this free page for a classroom project or weekend craft.
