Curled-Up Sleeping Pig on Hay With a Quilt

Coloring guide
Eyes closed and wearing a small contented smile, a sleepy piglet is curled up on a nest of drawn hay. Its head rests on its front hooves, one floppy ear lies flat to the side while the other sticks up, and a little curly tail peeks out behind its round body. A folded quilt with a grid pattern lies on the hay in front of the piglet, as if nap time is about to start. Big, clearly outlined pieces suit younger kids still building crayon control, while the hay strokes give older kids some detail to chew on. Soft pink and golden yellow work for the piglet and hay, and you can choose two bright colors for the checkered blanket. Print this sheet at home for a quick coloring break. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the pig's head, body, front legs and curly tail with soft pink, leaving the closed eyes and the small highlight on the snout white.
- 2Fill the snout and the inner ear area with rose pink so the nose stands out from the face.
- 3Color the two hooves at the front of the pig with chocolate brown.
- 4Fill the hay nest with golden yellow, working in long curved strokes that follow the direction of the straw.
- 5Color the quilt with sky blue, then fill the squares of the checkered pattern with pale blue, leaving the grid lines white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of soft pink along the pig's back and under the hay for a little depth. Keep the background white.
