Sleepy-Eyed Baby Owl Birds Night Scene with Moon and Stars

A big-eyed baby owl sits on a leafy branch and looks straight out of the page, with a small beak and round glossy pupils. Rows of scalloped feather lines cover its chest, and both wings are tucked in at its sides. Two little feet hold the branch, which has leaves at each end. Overhead you will find a large crescent moon and four small stars in different sizes. Because the shapes are bold and open, younger kids can manage them with chunky crayons or markers. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the owl's head and the feathery edges around the face with warm brown, leaving the two big round eye areas white.
- 2Color both wings burnt orange, keeping the thin feather lines as the darker details you leave uncolored.
- 3Fill the round belly and the chest scallops with soft cream, keeping the eye shine dots white.
- 4Color the beak and both feet golden yellow, then the two bigger stars on the left and right in the same golden yellow.
- 5Color the small top star and the left star lemon yellow, then fill the leaves on the branch with leaf green while leaving the branch and moon white.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading on the wings and belly with a slightly darker tone of the same color for extra depth.
