Duckling Carrying a Giant Egg, Easter for Kids Coloring

Here a smiling little duckling waddles along with a huge Easter egg balanced on its back, and the whole scene is ready for crayons. The egg is divided into bands of wavy lines and rows of small circles, so kids get lots of separate sections to fill. The duckling has fluffy feathers, a tuft on its head, big sparkly eyes, an open beak and webbed feet in mid-step. At the bottom, a puddle spreads out beside two daisy-like flowers, with tufts of grass on either side. Bold shapes and easy-to-follow lines make it a fun choice for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Bright yellow for the duckling, orange for the beak and feet, and pastel pink, purple and blue stripes on the egg would be a fun mix. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the duckling's body, head, and wing golden yellow, keeping the eye whites and the small shine spots white.
- 2Fill the egg's top cap and lower band with lavender purple, the upper and bottom bands with sky blue, and the middle wavy band with grass green.
- 3Color the wide middle band of the egg light yellow, then add royal blue dots on the top row and light pink dots on the lower rows.
- 4Paint the beak and both feet orange, and color the open mouth with raspberry pink.
- 5Color the puddle and its two small ovals tan brown, then fill the flower petals with light pink and the flower centers with light yellow.
- 6Optional: add a little shading with a darker shade of each color along the edges to give the duckling and egg more depth. Leave the grass outlines white.
