Easter Basket Full of Eggs for Spring

In the middle of the page sits a woven basket holding four Easter eggs tucked into tufts of grass. No two eggs match. One has zigzags, one has polka dots, one has horizontal stripes and one has wavy lines, while a smaller egg behind them shows a row of little circles. A big bow is tied at the top of the twisted rope handle. At the base of the basket, a few flowers with round centers and layered petals grow among the grass blades, and two smaller flowers stand on tall stems at the sides. All those patterns mean plenty of small areas to fill in, so crayons, markers or colored pencils all work. Sunny yellow and orange look good on the zigzag egg, and a soft pink bow stands out against the basket. This free printable is a nice Easter activity for home or class. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the whole basket and its handle with honey tan, then use warm brown for the darker rows of the weave and the rim.
- 2Fill the bow with coral red, including the two loops, the tails and the small knot in the center.
- 3Color the center polka-dot egg lemon yellow, leaving the dots white, then add royal purple to the zigzag egg and sky blue to the egg on the top right.
- 4Paint the striped eggs on the left and right with soft lavender, light lilac and rose pink stripes and waves, following the lines of the drawing.
- 5Color the grass leaves and blades with grass green, and keep the flower petals and background white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade along one side of each egg and the basket to make it look more rounded.
