Elephant Hugging a Baby Zebra with Its Trunk
Coloring guide
Side by side stand a smiling baby zebra and a little elephant, the elephant's trunk curled softly against the zebra's cheek like a hug. The zebra has big sparkly eyes, a tufted mane, a tasseled tail and lots of curvy stripes. The elephant has a round tummy, large ears and a small tuft of hair on its head. A big round sun sits low over distant hills behind them, with a flat-topped acacia tree on the right, small clouds and three birds overhead. Grass tufts, bushes and a few rocks cover the ground. This free printable is a good match for kids who like bold stripes balanced by calm open spaces. Warm oranges and yellows work for the sun and sky, and soft gray for the elephant helps the zebra's black and white stripes stand out. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big golden yellow sun and the golden yellow grass across the bottom and sides of the scene.
- 2Color the elephant's body and head light gray, then the trunk and ears coral pink where the ears show inside.
- 3Fill the acacia tree canopy with leaf green and the trunk with warm brown.
- 4Add sky blue clouds on the left and the periwinkle blue hills in the background, leaving the sky white.
- 5Color the zebra's hooves, mane, and nose charcoal gray and the rock medium gray, keeping the zebra stripes, face, and eyes white.
- 6Optional: add a few extra darker strokes along the grass and under the elephant to make the scene feel grounded.
